For my practicum, I have thought of both people and places that might interest me. I decided to choose my aunt as my subject for the project. I went through a part of my childhood thinking that all kids had two parents until one day my cousin appeared without a father. She does not volunteer or do charity work, but I would like to hear about the some of the difficulties she has gone through. Even though she had family support, I am still amazed by what she has been able to accomplish at this point in her life. This is why I would like to also study her work. The plan is to observe her daycare multiple times a week and interview her about her life and the daycare. While at the daycare, I plan to help her with the daycare to get a hands-on experience with her work. I decided to conduct a majority of my questioning at the house because the daycare may become too hectic at times to complete an interview.

As my secondary choice and tertiary choices, I would choose the meditation garden and student union, respectfully, for different reasons. Both serve as great places for people to be happy, but in different ways. The meditation garden is a great place for troubled or scared individuals to go in and forget about their troubles for a bit. The student union is another one of my choices because it provides a variety of resources. While I understand that the student union is doing what they do for monetary reasons, it does offer food, entertainment, and school supplies to survive while on campus.
