Jose Miranda E-Portfolio
Table of Contents
Dear Andrew Letter - This was the start of it all. It is the first official page because it was the first thing that I remember having to do for the class. It is in the portfolio because it shows how I have grown from the beginning of the semester to the end.
Practical Proposal - This is the second page because it is what allowed me to decide what I wanted to do for my practicum. I learned to look at the potential about a person and place, as well as the significance that they hold within.
Confidentiality Statement - It is the third page because it is what technically protects me from any legal penalty, and helped me understand the rules about talking about my practicum. I learned that I must be respectful for both people and things and not to purposefully expose their actions without first protecting their name.
Practicum Blog - It is the fourth page because this was actually when I visited my place for more than just buying food. The experience I gained for viewing at something for more than was just on the surface was invaluable and has allowed me to grow as a person.
Reading Notes on the Arrival - This is the fifth page. The Arrival was the first novel we read as a class and I took notes on it throughout my reading. I learned that taking notes while reading can help me remember what I deem to be the most important material, so I do not forget it.
The Arrival mini-project - This is the sixth page. It features both the prompts and the reflection. It is in the portfolio because it allowed me to look back at times in my life and connect with the novel. I learned that it is important to look back at the past with pride, but also loo into the future with optimism.
American Gods Reflection - This is the seventh page. I decided to put it here because it was the second novel we had to read and I was able to examine how uncomfortable the book is able to make a person. It also gave me the opportunity to learn about how I think about how I adapt to uncomfortable situations.
Annotated Bibliography - This is the eighth page. I featured it after the American Gods reflection because the bibliography was primarily concerned with American Gods. I learned about how sources can be make more sense after describing how it fits in, rather than hoping someone thinks it fits in.
Mix and Mingle - This is page nine and is in the portfolio because it was among the most memorable group work in class. I learned that people come from many different backgrounds.
Making the Lists - This is page ten and is in because it was also an extremely memoorable group work activity. I learned more about everyone's differing opinions about a variety of topics.
Meme & Reflection - This is the 11th page. I added it to the portfolio because it allowed me to examine my life up to this point in a unique way. I learned more about myself then I had previously.
Wild Card 1 - This is the 12th page. It is a picture of all of my exams for my Statistics class. I was not expecting to do that well in the class, but I ended up finishing with an A and getting a 100 on the final (thanks to a ten point curve). I learned that I should expect to do well in a class, rather than thinking it will end poorly as soon as it starts.
Wild Card 2 - This is the 13th page. It is a picture of my Xbox One. It is nothing special, but it does help me pass the time when there is nothing else and is entertaining. I usually play FIFA (a soccer game), Destiny (a first-person shooter set into the future), or Smite (a third-person Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, or MOBA for short).
Reflection: A Humanizing Experience - This is the 14th page.
